Black and white photo shows verandah at the rear of St Patrick's College.  The college was situated on the corner of Lansdowne Street and Cathedral Place, East Melbourne.  It was demolished in 1971 to make way for the Catholic Diocesan Centre.  One bluestone tower remains as a relic.

Photogrpher's note:

This is a close view of St. Patrick’s College from the corner of Cathedral Place and Lansdowne Street. Only the tower now remains after the main building was demolished amidst much controversy in the 60’s. Looking at whatever old photographs I can find over time, the veranda is an early addition to the main building. In time, even it appears to have had its own modifications with window ‘fill-ins’ to create more enclosed space.
