East Melbourne, George Street 129 - Burchett

1852. Crown Allotment 17, Section 16 on which 129 (old No. 74) and 135 stand, purchased by Joseph Mathews.
1853c. Mathews had 2 cottages at back of 129 and 135, numbered 131 and 133. No.131 still exists, No.133 has been demolished. No.131 was possibly commenced in 1853.
1854c. MCC BR: Joseph Mathews house for self.

1852. Possible reference to purchase of the whole block (fronted by Nos. 133 and 135).
1853. (Possibly old No.68). Joseph Mathews to build for self, dwelling house and additions.
1854. J.M. to build for self, house of stone and wood.
1855. J.M. listed as owner - unoccupied. To build shed.
1856. J.M. To build kitchen for self.
