Richard Meehan and sisters

Photo shows Richard Meehan and his sisters on board Stroud the plumber's motorbike outside their family home, 4 Grey Street, East Melbourne. Their mother Pauline nee Cooney grew up in the care of her aunt, Mary Cooney, at 1121 Hoddle Street. Pauline married Richard Meehan at St Patrick's Cathedral in 1943 and from 1952-1976 the Meehan family lived at 4 Grey Street.

Six-Bob-a-Day Tourist

The letters of Private Thomas Gardner written to his mother and sister, Mabel from the battlefields of World War I. Interspersed with the letters is the story of Mabel's involvement with the Women's Peace Movement extracted from her diary. The Gardners' family home was Coniston, 117 George Street, East Melbourne. Some brief descriptons of the house but no photos.

Some EMG'ers at Wynne McGrath's house

Photo shows a party in progress. The East Melbourne Group, founded in 1953 to fight inappropriate development, holds regular social functions to help raise funds for its work. This occasion was a progressive dinner with the main course held at Wynne McGrath's house, 112 Hotham Street.
