Cliveden Mansion
Following the AGM heritage architect, Bruce Trethowan, will talk about Cliveden, Sir William Clarke's long gone mansion demolished to make way for the Hilton, now Pullman. It remains as East Melbourne's biggest architectural loss and the talk will be a chance to bring it back to life.

King of the Air: the Turbulent Life of Charles Kingsford Smith
Ann Blainey will talk about her new book and its star, Charles Kingsford Smith, flyer extraordinaire. It was he who made the first continuous flight across Australia, the first trans-Pacific flight, and the first flight across the Atlantic from east to west. He also held the record for a flight from Sydney to London, then retraced his steps to make the first solo flight on the same route.
