Digital copy of a coloured slide. Photo shows single storey house with a brushwood fence and verandah. A sign at the front advertises The Office of Harry A Norris, Architects, 36 Jolimont Road. The numbers were changed c.1955 and the site became No 136. The building has since been demolished and the site is now part of an office building numbered 128-136 Jolimont Road.

BROCKELBANK, Lilla
Lilla Brockebank, cricketer and architect, was the fifth of the six daughters of Duncan Brockelbank, actuary and accountant, and his wife Bessy Jemima, née Westmore .[1] Lilla was born in Hackney, London in 1883.[2] The family left London for Australia in August 1885 aboard the Melbourne. A month into the journey Duncan died of consumption.[3]

The Argus of 30 March 1940, p. 22 ran a block advertisement describing Sherwood, 246 Albert Street as 'New Modern, Dignified City Home' just completed. Front flats £3/7/6 per week; rear flats £2/7/6. In 1947 Joan, the daughter of Mr and Mrs George Sherwood of Sherwood, 246 Albert Street was married in St. Patrick's Cathedral. Possibly the Sherwoods owned the building.

Jolimont, Jolimont Road 136, Yewsley
A symmetrical double fronted single storey house with centrally placed steps leading to a verandah at the front.
The house was completed in 1870 for owners Edward Thomas Slack and his wife Rosetta. Thomas was superintendent of mail services at the GPO. He died in 1907 and the house passed to Rosetta. She died in 1921. At this time the inventory of her assets described the house as 'a very old house of nine rooms three of which are of brick and six of wood'.
