1854. Land involved was bought by Johnston at Government Land Sale. Prior to building Johnston appears to have had large garden in the area.

1870. G.K. Johnston - owner. Each of brick, 5 rooms. Vacant.
1872-80c. No.89. Herman Vestris - occupier.
