Description: 

A six roomed brick house.

History: 

Possibly the house referred to in the Notice of Intention to Build as "an additional cottage" The house was built by Thomas Murray, who as a partner in the firm Murray & Hill built many of Melbourne's finest buildings including the Customs House and the Mint.

Built in 1859 three 2 storey houses for W.G.Spriggs - owner. Built by Robert Huckson.
1861 owned by W.G. Sprigg, occupied by:
204 - A. Schulkraft
206 - F. Cook
208 - Richard Wade
1868-1881 204 was occupied by William Sprigg
1979 became Clarendon Medical Centre

1869. Robert Dixon for self, residence cr. George and Hoddle Streets.
1870. Wade owner. Rev. ?.R. Wade occupier. Brick, 9 rooms.
1900. Charles Metcalfe occupier. James McBean owner. 10 rooms. 105x35 deep.

Dixon in 1869 built next door, see 16 George Street and later at No. 20 also.
