Postcard with photo of Royal Villas, 514-524 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne. The photo shows a row of six terrace houses. The central four each have a triple arched verandah and two windows above, while the two end houses have an arched porch over the front door and one window downstairs, and two windows above. One of the houses is marked '85' in red ink. 85 was the street number between c.1890 and c.1936, now 518. A man is standing in the doorway of this house.
The centre plantation in Victoria Parade shows a tree in an individual garden bed surrounded by a rock border.

On the reverse the message is addressed to C.J. Small Esqre, Leather Merchant, Gosport, Hants. and reads:
'Just received your group photo and we are delighted with it, should be glad to be able to see you all. Love and best wishes to all affectionately, Yours Harry and Mary'
Additional notes read 'Letter follows'; 'This the front you have the back'; puzzle, find me'.
Richard (known as Harry) Small, insurance agent, lived at 518 Victoria Parade with his wife, Mary, from c.1904 to c.1910, when he died.
