An interview with local resident and actress, Joan Mercer.  It was one of a number of interviews conducted by members of the East Melbourne Historical Society as part of an on-going oral history project.

The interview was conducted in 2003 by Elizabeth Cam and transcribed by Sylvia Black.

Joan's story takes us through her early life with her husband (Leslie) Boyd Mercer, civil engineer, as they traveled and lived in the many different parts of the world decided by his work comittments. Also shared are her own interests in acting and writing, and later her life in East Melbourne where she took an active part in the life of the community.
