Newspaper cutting about the visit of Oscar Hammerstein III to Melbourne. He is the grandson of Oscar Hammerstein II, co-writer of such musicals as Sound of Music and South Pacific. The article mentions Oscar Hammerstein II's marriage to Dorothy Blanchard in 1929. Dorothy was the daughter of the Mrs Blanchard who owned 99 Hotham Street, East Melbourne 1922-1925. There is a long standing legend that the two met in East Melbourne when Oscar rented a cottage at the back of the house, but this has been shown not to be true.
Includes a photo of Oscar Hammerstein and Dorothy Blanchard on their wedding day.
